Friendly reminder: Backerkit surveys locking on May 1st
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Apr 14, 2021 at 05:09:05 AM

Dear backers,

16% of you (around 450 backers) still need to answer their survey. As we previously announced, the last day to make final updates to your order is April 30th, we’ll close the Pledge Manager on May 1st. Make sure you complete your survey before the deadline!

If you haven’t answered your survey yet, please keep in mind that if you fill out your BackerKit survey or pay for extras and shipping after April 30 order due date, we’ll still receive your information but your shipment may be delayed or even not fulfilled if the stock will not be enough at the end of the campaign.

When a survey is locked your reward selections are fixed and we’ll be able to charge cards for add-on item purchases, pledge upgrades, and pre-orders.

Even if we're locking orders (so you won't be able to change, add, or remove items from your pledge), please note that you will still be able to update your shipping address if needed, up until we lock addresses for shipping at a later date closer to the start of the fulfillment.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://tinyturbocars.backerkit.com/.

Join us at AwSHUX next week!

Come visit our (virtual) booth during AwSHUX (from April 23rd to April 25th) and you’ll be able to play Tiny Turbo Cars, and many of our other titles, with the guidance of our demo people... all for free! Our booth/discord server will be open each day of the event from 18:00 to 00:00 CEST, you’ll find more information here: https://www.shutupandsitdown.com/videos/awshuxspring/

It’s a horrible, horrible guild...

We recently opened the Guild of the Horribles, the one and only international Facebook group dedicated to all things Horrible Guild! Make sure to visit if you’re craving for delicious news, breath-taking previews, and juicy sneak-peeks! Also, the official Horrible Guild Discord Server is here! You’ll find it at this link.

We aim to build a strong and friendly community of Horrible Guild fans, so consider yourself invited… See you there!

Thanks everyone for your support, and stay safe!

Backerkit surveys are incoming!
almost 3 years ago – Thu, Apr 01, 2021 at 03:28:37 AM

Dear backers,

we are excited to announce that we have started to send out your fulfillment surveys!

As usual, we'll be sending them out in batches, so that we can ensure there are no technical issues hidden somewhere. It may take a few days before you receive yours, so don't worry if you don't receive it immediately.

The survey will be sent to the email address associated with your Kickstarter account, the email subject will say: "Response Needed -- Get your reward for Tiny Turbo Cars"  and it will be sent from [email protected]. It'll look like this:

Important: in your survey, you’ll find all the items corresponding to your original pledge level, already present in your “cart” and paid for: you don’t need to add them again to your order!

You'll be asked for the following info:

  • Your final shipping address (you’ll still be able to change it until we’re near to shipping out the rewards)
  • The add-on items you want to receive with your extra pledge credit (if applicable)
  • You will also have the ability to change your pledge level, or buy additional items (at exclusive Kickstarter prices) that will be shipped alongside your reward

During our previous campaigns we got a ton of questions on these surveys, so we've gone ahead and laid out all the answers we can think of below. If you've got a question, we kindly ask that you start by reviewing the FAQ below.

KICKSTARTER SURVEY FAQ

1. WHAT IS BACKERKIT?

BackerKit is a 3rd party service that helps project creators like us to make our backers happy by sending out easy-to-use surveys and giving them another chance to take advantage of our Kickstarter discounted prices. We've worked with BackerKit on all of our previous Kickstarter projects, and their services just keep getting better and better. So, please don't be alarmed by the backerkit.com URL or the BackerKit logo at the top of the survey... you're in very trusted hands.

2. WHERE'S MY SURVEY? I CAN'T FIND IT.

  • No worries! Surveys are sent in batches to ensure there are no technical issues. Check your email periodically between now and the end of next week roughly.

  • The quickest way to get to your survey is to go to the following site and enter your Kickstarter email address: https://tinyturbocars.backerkit.com/

  • Maybe you're checking the wrong email account? Your survey will be sent to the email address that is associated with your Kickstarter profile. Not sure what email that is? Login to Kickstarter, click on the icon in the upper right of the screen, and go to Settings > Account.

  • Search your inbox and SPAM folder for "Tiny Turbo Cars" or "Response Needed".

  • If all else fails, go to tinyturbocars.backerkit.com , click the FAQ link, and then click the Contact tab. The kind folks at BackerKit are there to help!

3. HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO FILL OUT MY SURVEY?

The sooner you fill your survey out and submit it, the sooner we'll be able to add your shipment into our fulfillment system. We plan to lock your orders on May 1st 2021: at that point you’ll not be able to make further changes to your order. We’ll then have a final count of all the items we need to produce, and start the mass production in time to deliver your rewards according to the planned schedule.

Note that we cannot lock down surveys that are incomplete. You must fill out your survey in full in order for us to ship you your rewards.

4. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO CHARGE MY PAYMENT METHOD OF CHOICE?

Credit card payments will only be charged when we will lock your orders in May 2021.

5. WILL I BE ABLE TO CHANGE MY SURVEY AFTER SUBMITTING IT?

Yes, you'll be able to change anything (your address, add-ons and even pledge level) up until we are ready to start production. After that, you will still be able to update your shipping address (but only the shipping address) for several more weeks: you just won't be able to add or remove items from your order anymore. When we will be finally ready to ship your rewards, we will also lock down your shipping data, send your info to our shipping partners and begin shipping your stuff. We'll tell you before we lock down shipping data, so that you will have time to make one last pass at them!

6. WHEN WILL STUFF SHIP?

As we specified on our Kickstarter project, you should receive your rewards in the month of December 2021. Obviously we'll keep backers posted if anything about our planned fulfillment schedule changes.

7. HOW WILL PURCHASING ADD-ONS WORK ON BACKERKIT?

It's actually very straightforward, much easier than on Kickstarter itself. You can specify which add-ons you would like to receive together with your pledge just like you would in an online shop. If the cost of those items exceeds what you pledged, you can pay the difference via credit card directly in your BackerKit survey.

If you pledged more money than the value of your rewards+shipping, you'll see a credit when you get to the add-on screen in the survey. As you add things to your reward, that credit will decrease. If your credit hits 0 € and you keep adding things, then you will owe additional funds. Once you are finished adding stuff, you can pay those additional funds via credit card in the next step.

8. MY PAYMENT FAILED. WHAT DO I DO NOW?

If your pledge payment failed via Kickstarter, there's still a chance for you to get your rewards for the same Kickstarter price. You will still have a survey emailed to you, but it will show that you pledged 0€. You will be able to pick whichever reward and add-ons you want, and then pay with a credit card, at the same price every other Kickstarter backer is paying.

Some international payment methods (particularly international bank cards) might not work with Backerkit's payment system. So, you may have to use a credit card for the payment to go through.

9. I'M MOVING SOON! WHAT SHOULD I LIST AS MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?

Give us your expected shipping address for the month of December 2021. If you don't know what your address will be during that time, we recommend filling out the address of a close relative or friend that you can trust as a backup solution (make sure to also warn them in advance that they may receive a package on your behalf). As we said above, we'll let you know when we're going to lock the shipping address data, and at that time you can go in and enter your correct address.

Until next time! Play Horrible, join the Guild!

Sincerely,

the Horrible Guild

Chequered flag, the race is over! Thanks, everyone!
about 3 years ago – Wed, Mar 17, 2021 at 03:02:37 AM

Hello Racers!

It's a few minutes past midnight here in Italy, and our exciting race is now over. We did it! Tiny Turbo Cars is funded, with more than 2100 backers, more than 110'000€ pledged, and all 18 stretch goals unlocked! None of this would have been possible without your invaluable support, so once again, thanks to all of you. Your enthusiasm means the world to a small, indipendent team like us!

Now we'll have to wait until Kickstarter will transfer over the funds you pledged to us (this can take up to two weeks). Then, we will send out to all of you an email invitation to BackerKit, our "pledge manager", where you will be able to fill your final survey to confirm the items you wish to receive with your pledge.

We’ll give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it. You won’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email will contain a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can, since we need this information to confirm your pledge (including which add-ons you want and your shipping address).

If you need to change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

If you prefer, you can contact us directly and give us your information, but answering your survey will help us get your rewards out to you faster. BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link will be sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact us.

We'll take a few days to rest now, but we'll soon be back, head down, to finalize all aspects of the game and move to production as soon as possible! You will hear more from us soon. Have a good night!

Until next time, take care, stay safe, and rev up your engines!

All stretch goals have been unlocked! Kickstarter Closing Party going live SOON!
about 3 years ago – Tue, Mar 16, 2021 at 07:21:52 PM

Hello Racers!

You did it! The community collected more than the required 300 points needed to solve mini-game #14 and this means that the Bomblin racecar has been unlocked! This was the final stretch goal that we were planning for this campaign... so congratulations everyone, a job well done from an incredible team!

The highest scores that we received were a few 15s. Let's take a look at a couple of highlights... which are actually very similar, and some of theme were extremely similar...

... so similar, in fact, that three different backers (Derek, Modestas, and Bartosz) submitted the same sequence of actions (which is kind of incredible): 1 forward, 2 right, 2 left and "recharge goblin" (2 batteries in total, now), then increased jump landing 3 spaces forward on the "2 forward goblin", then a turbo with 2 batteries and 2 forward, ending on column 15.

Michael made a very similar sequence of actions, with a slight difference in the middle of the sequence between the recharge gobling and the jump over the impassable obstacle. But we wanted to highlight it nevertheless! There is always more than 1 way to obtain similar results in Tiny Turbo Cars 😉

A small reminder before we conclude this update: our "Kickstarter Closing Party" will be live soon! Tune in at 18:00 CET / 1:00pm EST to watch the next duel between our lead designers Lorenzo Silva and Hjalmar Hach! Tiny Turbo Cars Project Manager Renato Sasdelli and HG community manager Matteo Carioni will also join the fray! Our brave racers will reply to your questions and comments during the live stream as usual, too, so come celebrate with us! The stream will be available on our Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook channels.

Thanks for your outstanding support, Racers, and see you at the Kickstarter Closing Party in 15 minutes!

Sincerely,

the Horrible team

Mini-game #14 update! The Guild of the Horribles! Kickstarter-closing live stream party!
about 3 years ago – Tue, Mar 16, 2021 at 09:24:44 AM

Hello Racers!

Less than 12 hours left before the end of this campaign... the finish line is in sight! Are you excited? Ready for the chequered flag? We definitely are! This will be a news-packed update, so let's start without further ado!

Mini-Game #14 update

Most of the scores we received so far are very good, but we're still quite far from the goal of at least 300 points needed to unlock the Bomblin... so look at the rules for the mini-game and keep those scores coming! Also, don't forget to reshare our facebook post to gain bonus points! Only a minority of the people who submitted scores also reshared our post, it seems... those are basically free points, you just need to take them 😜

Introducing... The Guild of the Horribles!

We recently launched a community project called The Guild of the Horribles. We already started a Facebook group, but we plan to expand our efforts to other platforms, too. "But hey," we hear you say, "why should I join?" Well, if you are a fan of our games, there's plenty of reasons, actually. You can chat and start discussions with fellow board game enthusiasts, for starters. With time, we also plan to start sharing juicy previews with exclusive reveals about our future projects, organize remote play tests with members of the community, host community-only live streams, hold contests and giveaways just for our most loyal fans, and more! And did we mention that it's completely free? We also want to hear what you think, so don't hesitate to share your feedback and ideas with us!

Kickstarter closing party!

As is tradition at this point, we would like to celebrate the end of this campaign with another live stream! Tune in later today at 18:00 CET / 1:00pm EST to see the next duel between Lorenzo Silva and Hjalmar Hach! Tiny Turbo Cars Project Manager Renato Sasdelli and our community manager Matteo Carioni will also join the fray! Our brave racers will reply to your questions and comments during the live stream as usual, so don't miss it! The game will be streamed on our Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook channels.

That's it for this update! With one final push, we're sure you'll be able to unlock the Bomblin before the end of this campaign! Rev up your engine and race into the danger zone!

Sincerely,
the Horrible team
